Community Organizations

Jarbidge Community Association, Inc., The Jarbidge Improvement Club was reactivated at a Town Meeting held in Jarbidge August 20, 1960. In 1986 the Jarbidge Improvement Club became the Jarbidge Community Association, Inc. which is a 501 (c)(3).   The purpose of this corporation shall be to preserve, to educate, to protect, to promote the historical sites and natural resources, and to enrich the community of Jarbidge and the general welfare of the community as a whole.

Pioneer Park is maintained by community volunteers and funding is provided by Elko County.

The Jarbidge Cemetery Committee maintains the historic cemetery and its records.

Jarbidge Historical Archive, The JHA was created to preserve photos and documents associated with the town of Jarbidge, NV from 1907 forward. This is a work in progress and currently, pictures and documents are being uploaded to Facebook. At a future date, they will be categorized, duplicates removed, and as many of the items as possible will be captioned and identified. Some of the items posted may not specifically be pictures of Jarbidge but pictures that residents, current and former, have donated to the Historical Archive.

Jarbidge Arts Council, Formed in the fall of 2003, Jarbidge Arts Councils’ mission is to provide opportunities in the Arts and Humanities available to the community of Jarbidge, its neighbors and visitors.

Jarbidge Volunteer Fire Department, a dedicated group of community volunteers maintain a ready presence to fight fires in Jarbidge and the immediate surrounding area should fire threaten the community. The Jarbidge VFD has one main annual fundraiser during the Halloween weekend. A raffle is held and tickets are on sale throughout the year, a goodies and baked goods auction is held on the Saturday evening of the Halloween weekend to raise funds to support the Jarbidge VFD. No funds are solicited via phone calls or mailers. The Jarbidge VFD also receives funds via the Newmont Legacy Project.
